Special Students

(REGISTERED STUDENTS OR GRADUATES OF OTHER UNIVERSITIES)

  • Students and graduates of a higher education institution can apply to undergraduate courses and graduate students of a higher education institution can apply to graduate courses as a special student in order to improve their skills and abilities in a specific area.
  • Applicants must fulfill the English proficiency requirements of the relevant program they apply to as special students.
  • Special students can take courses from undergraduate programs for two semesters at most. However, this period can be extended by the Decision of the Council of Higher Education for specific cases as stated In the related regulations (*)
  • The applications of the special students, the courses they can follow and their total credit hours, are determined by the respective executive committee under the consultancy of the respective head of department.
  • The special students do not receive diplomas or credits. They may receive a document of participation indicating their grades upon request.
  • The special students pay a tuition fee for the courses they follow in line with the regulations defined by the Board of Trustees.
  • Special student application and registration dates are defined in the academic calendar.
  • The students who are accepted to courses apply to the Registrar’s Office with the respective Board of Trustees decisions and the necessary documents, the registration procedures are operated by the Registrar’s Office.
  • The students who are registered to graduate programs of other universities also carry the required registration operations if approved by their faculty/institute of origin. If else (without having completed the registration procedures and without having paid the tuition fee) the students who follow the courses can not receive a document of participation.
  • The special students can not withdraw from the courses.
  • The special students are obliged to follow the rules indicated in the regulations and codes of practice of the University.

Military service postponing procedures are not available for the male students under special student status.

Required Documents

  1. Application form (Student Registrar’s Office web page, FORMS)
  2. TEDU Faculty / Institute Board Decision
  3. Certificate in English proficiency (https://els.tedu.edu.tr/en/els/exemption)
  4. For graduate students, Diploma or Transitory Graduation Certificate.
  5. Student certificate for those who are still students (the documents given by the e-state or the university of origin are accepted).
  6. 2 photos: the photo must be in color, taken within the last 6 months, and reflect clearly your current appearance.
  7. Receipt of the course fee per credit and application fee Receipt of the course fee per credit and application fee.

Special Student applications are made for one semester, for the following semesters application must be renewed.

TED UNIVERSITY STUDENTS WHO ARE TO TAKE COURSES FROM OTHER UNIVERSITIES

  • Students who wish to register at another university as a special student to take courses to be counted as substitution in their current programs at TEDU should first apply to the related faculty administrative board to receive their approval concerning the course substitution. Otherwise, their course substitution requests may not be accepted.
